Russian woman accused of stealing $850 in goods from her workplace

A 32-year-old woman from Amursk is facing trial after allegedly stealing goods worth 77,000 rubles ($850) from her workplace. The case has now been sent to the Amursk City Court for legal proceedings.

The woman worked at a marketplace pickup point in the city. Between January and August last year, she reportedly placed orders using her personal account but never paid for the items. Instead, she kept the merchandise for herself.

Prosecutors have charged her with fraud under Part 1 of Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code. The investigation has concluded, and the case will now proceed to trial. No other similar incidents involving employees at Marktplatz delivery points in the Khabarovsk region have been publicly reported since 2020, according to available records up to March 2026.

The trial will determine whether the woman is guilty of the fraud charges. If convicted, she could face penalties under Russian law. The case marks the first known prosecution of its kind in the region in recent years.
