The service was created to tackle repeat and escalating offences among young offenders. The goal is to address the underlying causes of their behaviour and help them integrate into society.

Over 5,000 young people in Saxony-Anhalt have avoided court convictions through the programme. Instead, they received sustainable social integration or alternative probation measures. The service also links young offenders with further aid programmes to prevent reoffending. The team operates from 15 main locations, with additional outreach sites set up as needed. Currently, 21 staff members run the service, though four positions remain unfilled.
