A beloved children's playground in Sovetskaya Gavan's Green Cape Park will reopen this year after a full rebuild. The site, originally funded by the Naked Heart Foundation in 2012, had fallen into disrepair and was closed over safety fears. Now, with fresh funding and plans in place, the project is set to restore a key space for local families.

The playground's closure came after Mayor Konstantin Samsonenko raised concerns about its condition. Over time, small architectural details and surfacing had worn down, creating risks for children. Rather than patching up the problems, officials opted for a complete reconstruction.

Funding for the 11-million-ruble project was secured through the sale of municipal property. This matches the original cost from 2012, ensuring the new playground meets the same high standards. Work will start as soon as temperatures remain above freezing, allowing construction to proceed without weather delays.

Once finished, the playground will offer the same quality and safety as the original. City leaders have promised a space that will again become a favourite for Sovetskaya Gavan's youngest residents.

The rebuilt playground will reopen later this year, providing a safe and modern play area for children. With the same investment as the 2012 build, the project aims to restore a community hub that had been missed since its closure. Families can expect a fully updated space ready for use once work is complete.
