Stori transforms Mexico's fintech landscape with digital-first banking

Stori has become one of Mexico’s leading fintech platforms by offering credit cards, loans, and deposit accounts entirely online. The company focuses on customers often ignored by traditional banks, particularly those with little or no credit history. Its services are managed through a mobile app, removing the need for physical branches. Stori operates as a licensed Sociedad Financiera Popular, providing financial tools designed for accessibility. Its credit card portfolio includes options like Stori Green, Stori Black, and co-branded cards with partners such as Shein, Farmacias Similares, Atlas FC, Club Santos Laguna, and Movimex. Each card caters to different user needs, from everyday spending to rewards tied to specific brands or clubs.

Beyond credit, Stori offers Stori Préstamos, a personal loan service available via WhatsApp or the app. Borrowers can access amounts between 1,000 and 23,000 pesos, with repayment terms of up to 12 months. For savings, Stori Cuenta+ provides a demand deposit account with a nominal annual yield of 7.00%, plus the option to earn up to 15.00% on fixed-term investments. The app itself acts as a central hub for users. They can track transactions, adjust credit limits, open accounts, and monitor loan status—all without visiting a branch. This digital-first approach aligns with Mexico’s growing fintech sector, which is reshaping financial access across the country.

Stori’s growth reflects a wider trend in Mexico, where fintech firms are driving financial inclusion through digital solutions. The platform’s mix of credit, loans, and savings products—all managed via an app—aims to serve customers overlooked by conventional banks. As the sector expands, such models are likely to play an increasing role in the country’s financial ecosystem.
