In the town of Perevoz, as part of the outreach campaign "Spring Is Coming—Make Way for Spring!" officers from the Perevoz District Traffic Police, a branch of Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, teamed up with Yelena Lebedeva, a member of the local Public Council, to host an engaging career guidance event for students at Secondary School No. 1.
The introduction to the work of the traffic police began with a demonstration of their technical equipment. The students were shown specialized devices used by officers to detect vehicle malfunctions and monitor road conditions.
Captain Ivan Sheronov, head of the traffic police unit, led an interactive session for the schoolchildren. Through games and hands-on activities, he explained the purpose of the uniform elements worn by road patrol officers and delved into the key responsibilities of police personnel.
After the classroom portion at the traffic police headquarters, the event moved outdoors. Captain Sheronov invited the students to a patrol car, where he demonstrated the operation of its sirens and emergency lights, explained how the radio system functions, and described the process for receiving reports from the public. The highlight of the visit was an opportunity for each student to sit behind the wheel of the service vehicle and imagine themselves as a traffic inspector.
The event left a lasting impression on the children. As the gathering wrapped up, several students admitted to the organizers that they were now seriously considering a career in law enforcement.
