Sverdlovsk Oblast boosts pensions and social benefits from April 2026
Sverdlovsk Oblast has rolled out a series of new social benefits and pension increases from April 2026. The changes affect large families, working parents, veterans, and self-employed individuals. Over 114,000 local residents have already seen their pensions rise by 6.8%.
Starting 1 April, social and state-provided pensions in the region increased by 6.8%. This adjustment applies to more than 114,000 pensioners across Sverdlovsk Oblast.
Large families now qualify for benefits if their per capita income is up to 10% above the subsistence minimum. The unified monthly payment for each child in these families is set at 9,094 rubles—half of the regional child subsistence minimum. A new annual benefit has been introduced for working parents with two or more children under 18 (or under 23 if in full-time education). To qualify, the family's income must not exceed 1.5 times the regional subsistence minimum. Applications for this benefit open from 1 June to 1 October 2026, through Gosuslugi, Multifunctional Centers, or Social Fund offices. The amount is calculated as the difference between the income tax paid the previous year and what would have been due at a 6% rate. Mothers with five or more children will now have all childcare periods for children up to 1.5 years fully counted toward their insurance record. This change aims to boost their future pension payments. Veterans of the special military operation can now access advance travel tickets to and from rehabilitation centres. Those with first-group disabilities or needing medical assistance may also bring a companion. Self-employed workers can now qualify for paid sick leave by signing an agreement with the Social Fund. They must pay a fixed rate of 3.84% on a chosen insurance amount of either 35,000 or 50,000 rubles. Additionally, the caregiver's allowance has increased for those aged 80 and older, as well as for first-group disability recipients on social pensions.
The updates expand support for families, veterans, and self-employed individuals in Sverdlovsk Oblast. Pensioners have already received higher payments, while new benefits for parents and carers are now available. Applications for some schemes, like the working parents benefit, will be accepted from June onwards.
