Trane Technologies acquires Thermo King's German dealer to boost cold chain logistics

Trane Technologies has completed the acquisition of Transport-Kälte-Vertrieb (TKV), a long-standing dealer of Thermo King and Frigoblock systems in southern Germany. The deal, finalised on 4 May, marks a strategic move to strengthen Thermo King’s direct sales and service network across Europe. TKV had operated independently for 55 years, serving as one of five authorised dealers for Thermo King and Frigoblock in Germany. The company’s Ulm location will remain open, continuing to function as a key sales and service centre for the region.

The newly acquired business will now trade under the name TK Deutschland. Jorge Estelle Caro has been appointed to lead the company, while Herwig Kiesling, previously with TKV, will stay on to support its expansion.

Claudio Zanframundo, President of Thermo King EMEA, highlighted the acquisition as a step toward greater investment and growth. The focus lies on cold chain logistics for road freight, an area seeing increased demand due to tighter temperature regulations and sustainability goals. Thermo King already operates over 500 service points in 75 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The takeover aligns with Thermo King’s broader strategy to expand its in-house sales and service capabilities in Europe. With TK Deutschland now part of the network, the company aims to meet rising market needs in temperature-controlled transport.
