Travelex expands in New Zealand with new store and TSB Bank partnership

Travelex is expanding its foreign exchange services in New Zealand with a new store and a partnership with TSB Bank. The move aims to make travel money more accessible, especially in areas with fewer options. Customers will now benefit from discounted rates on multiple currencies and payment methods. The company will open a new branch at New Plymouth House of Travel on 12 May 2026. This addition joins existing locations in Nelson, Hamilton, Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin, Christchurch Airport, and Queenstown Airport. Each store offers over 50 currencies in cash and nine on the Travelex Money Card (TMC).

Travelex has also teamed up with TSB Bank to launch an affiliate referral program. TSB customers can now access discounted travel money both online and in-store. To qualify for the lower rates, they must present a valid TSB card or bank statement at Travelex branches. The discounts apply to cash purchases and currency loaded onto the pre-paid TMC. The partnership focuses on supporting travellers in regional areas where travel money services are limited. By combining TSB’s local reach with Travelex’s foreign exchange options, the collaboration aims to simplify currency access for more customers.

The new store and TSB partnership will give travellers more ways to buy foreign currency at reduced rates. Discounts are available for both cash and pre-paid card transactions, with the program rolling out across Travelex’s network. The initiative targets greater convenience for customers in underserved locations.
