Two Major Fires Strike Vladivostok Within Hours, Sparking Investigations
Two major fires broke out in Vladivostok within hours of each other. The first blaze destroyed part of a private home on Shamorov Highway, while the second engulfed an administrative building on Shchitovaya Street. Emergency crews responded swiftly to both incidents.
The first fire erupted in a two-story private house near the Fadeyeva Street interchange. Eyewitnesses described a fierce blaze, with thick black smoke billowing from the structure. By the time firefighters arrived, flames had completely consumed the second floor.
A total of 35 rescuers and nine specialised vehicles were sent to tackle the house fire. Meanwhile, a second emergency call reported a blaze in an administrative building on Shchitovaya Street. The facility housed a café and a transport company office. Response teams reached the administrative building within seven minutes of the alert. The fire spread across roughly 450 square metres before being brought under control. Authorities have since launched an investigation into the café building incident, with the Primorsky Territory Prosecutor's Office leading the review. The supervisory authority will now check whether fire safety rules were followed at the site. They will also monitor the procedural handling of the case.
Both fires caused significant damage, though no injuries have been reported so far. Investigators will determine the exact causes and any potential violations of safety regulations. The outcomes of these reviews may influence future fire prevention measures in the region.
