Driver without license flees on foot - Unlicensed driver leads police on high-speed chase before surrendering

A 27-year-old driver without a valid licence led police on a chase through the Wesermarsch district. The incident began when officers attempted to stop the vehicle for speeding on Federal Highway 437 in Stadland. Both the driver and his passenger later fled on foot before the man eventually surrendered.

The chase started after the driver ignored police signals to pull over. Officers pursued the car with flashing blue lights and sirens, but the vehicle did not stop. Once the car was finally brought to a halt, the driver and his 28-year-old passenger abandoned it and ran.

A police helicopter was called in to assist in tracking the suspects. The passenger was found first and gave officers details about the driver's whereabouts. Meanwhile, the driver moved through footpaths before turning himself in at a local police station. There, checks revealed he had no valid driving licence.

Criminal proceedings have now been launched against the driver. The investigation continues as authorities examine the circumstances of the chase and the driver's lack of a licence. The passenger's cooperation helped police resolve the case more quickly.
