Unruly passenger forces United Airlines flight to divert after cockpit breach attempt

A United Airlines flight from Chicago to Minneapolis was forced to divert to Dane County Regional Airport on Friday night. The unexpected landing followed an incident involving an unruly passenger who tried to breach the cockpit. Authorities quickly responded to secure the situation.

Flight UA2005 departed Chicago with 147 passengers and six crew members on board. During the journey, a passenger became disruptive, prompting the pilot to change course. Air traffic control recordings later revealed the individual had made multiple attempts to enter the cockpit.

Law enforcement, including officers from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, met the plane upon landing. The FBI’s Milwaukee and Madison offices also joined the response. A suspect was taken into custody without further disturbance. After the incident was resolved, the aircraft continued to Minneapolis. It arrived safely in the early hours of Saturday morning.

No injuries were reported among passengers or crew. The flight resumed its original route once the situation was under control. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident further.
