Washington Harbour Backs Trusted Space to Advance Military Satellite Tech
Washington Harbour Partners has announced a strategic investment in Trusted Space, a Virginia-based government contractor specialising in satellite operations. The deal, revealed on December 4, aims to speed up the company’s research into military-focused space technology. Trusted Space will keep its current leadership, with founders retaining major ownership stakes. Founded in 2019, Trusted Space develops mission engineering and analysis tools for satellite constellations. Its software uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve command-and-control systems for space applications. The new funding will boost research in areas with strong military demand, such as autonomous satellite operations.
Washington Harbour, an investor in government and national-security technology, sees this as its third move into the space sector. Earlier, the firm backed Turion Space and Quindar, both working on space domain awareness. Mina Faltas, the firm’s founder and chief investment officer, highlighted the growing importance of space technology in national security.
Bob MacMillan, co-founder and president of Trusted Space, welcomed the partnership. He described the collaboration as a key step in advancing the company’s mission. The investment also aligns with the Pentagon’s push for more autonomous and resilient satellite networks. The funding will help Trusted Space expand its work on military-grade satellite software. Washington Harbour’s involvement strengthens its portfolio in space technology, matching broader defence priorities. Both companies plan to accelerate development in command-and-control systems for future missions.
