Wolfsburg's New Online Health Course Now Mandatory for Food Workers

Wolfsburg has launched a digital health instruction course for workers in food and restaurant industries. The online programme, available through the city's official portal, meets legal requirements under Germany's Infection Protection Act. Participants must complete it before starting jobs involving food handling or kitchen work. The course is now mandatory for anyone employed in food preparation or restaurant kitchens across Wolfsburg. Under Section 43 of the Infection Protection Act, workers must hold a valid certificate before beginning their roles. The document cannot be older than three months.

The instruction teaches participants how to spot early signs of infectious diseases. It aims to reduce risks in environments where food safety is critical. Access is provided through rathausonline.wolfsburg.de, requiring a BundID account for registration. The fee for the digital course is €26, payable by credit card or PayPal. The city's health department has not released data comparing participation rates between this online version and previous in-person sessions.

Completing the course grants workers the necessary certificate to start their jobs. The digital format offers a streamlined way to meet legal health requirements. Employers and staff in Wolfsburg's food sector must ensure compliance before beginning work.
